This stunning 1968 GTO is the result of a multi-year, no-expense-spared rotisserie restoration—a professional build that would cost over $120k to duplicate today. The body is laser-straight with perfect gaps, a testament to the original GM sheet metal preserved by an incredible back-story.
Reported stolen in the early 1970s, the car was hidden away in a dry warehouse for over 40 years. It was discovered completely intact (minus the powertrain) when the property changed hands, essentially freezing the low-mileage body in time. With all original body stampings present the state reissued the serial tag back to the original vin and the restoration began, resulting in the masterpiece you see here!
Under the hood is a fresh 455ci V8 built with top-tier modern forged internals as well as billet accessories. While it retains its classic '68 styling, it features updated fuel delivery and puts out 500+ hp to the crank. Power is sent through a smooth-shifting TH400 transmission to a Strange 12-bolt posi rear end. Despite the power, this is a true street car: it runs on 93 octane, idles smoothly, and is built for cross-country trips. It features adjustable electric power steering for perfect road/driver feedback, along with power brakes (disc front/drum rear).
The interior is entirely new and fresh, from the vinyl and padding on the seats to the carpet and headliner. Everything works—gauges, lights, horn, radio, and heat—with the only exceptions being the wipers (parts included) and squirters, as the car hasn't seen rain since its 2022 completion.
